Description
The Wall of Tears is a historic site 5 km west of Puerto Villamil on Isabela Island in the Galapagos Islands, in Ecuador. It was built between 1946 and 1959 by prisoners in the penal colony of the island, which had been established by President José María Velasco Ibarra in 1945, making use of the infrastructure left by the United States Army after World War II.
